The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently issued a new version of the "Radio Frequency Allocation Regulations of the People's Republic of China" (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Order No. 62, hereinafter referred to as the "Allocation Regulations"), which will be officially implemented on July 1.
The "Division Regulations" are basic administrative regulations for the development, utilization, and protection of radio spectrum resources in my country. They play an important role in promoting the rational and effective use of radio spectrum resources and guiding the high-quality development of the radio industry. In accordance with the Radio Regulations of the International Telecommunication Union, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology takes into consideration the medium- and long-term needs of various departments and industries for spectrum resources, and regularly organizes revisions to the Allocation Regulations.
In this revision of the "Allocation Regulations", the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology took the lead in the world to allocate all or part of the 6425-7125MHz frequency band for IMT (International Mobile Communications, including 5G/6G) systems. 6GHz is the only large-bandwidth high-quality resource in the mid-frequency band. It has both coverage and capacity advantages. It is particularly suitable for the deployment of 5G or future 6G systems. It can also leverage the advantages of the existing mid-band 5G global industry. Determining its regulatory status in the form of regulations this time will help stabilize 5G/6G industry expectations, promote consistent global or regional division of 5G/6G spectrum resources, provide sufficient mid-band frequency resources for 5G/6G development, and promote mobile communications technology and industry Innovation and development.
