Solution supports test cases for Skylo non-terrestrial network certification program
Keysight Technologies, Inc. announced that its RF/RRM Carrier Acceptance Toolset (RCAT) has enabled SGS to become the facilitator of Skylo Technologies' non-terrestrial network (NTN) equipment certification program.
Keysight Technologies Assists SGS in Testing Skylo Non-terrestrial Network Certification Program
To extend secure and reliable connectivity across their entire geographic footprint, mobile operators are exploring hybrid satellite-terrestrial network architectures with NTN. Chipset and device manufacturers need tools that can validate and certify their products for these new networks.
In light of this demand, SGS added narrowband (NB) NTN certification to its portfolio. They chose Keysight's RCAT solution because it provides strong support for the proven Skylo test cases. Based on the strengths of RCAT and the close collaboration between the three companies, SGS became the first authorized third-party test laboratory for Skylo. This not only supports the continued growth of the Skylo device certification program, but also enhances confidence in the larger NTN ecosystem.
SGS's use of the RCAT solution further solidifies Keysight's position as the leading test equipment supplier for the Skylo certification program and NTN testing. Keysight and Skylo continue to collaborate on supplementary testing for future versions of Skylo's NTN certification program. Since the initial test case was released in September 2023, this continued innovation initiative underscores Keysight's commitment to the long-term success of NTN development.
"Our collaboration with Keysight and Skylo enables SGS to provide high-quality products and services that meet the evolving needs of our customers," said Fred Yang, vice president of connectivity and products at SGS . "As the first test laboratory approved by Skylo, SGS is now able to provide timely certification services to a wide range of device manufacturers."
"This collaboration accelerates the device certification process and ensures compliance with Skylo and industry standards, using Keysight solutions and validated Skylo test cases," said Dr. Andrew Nuttall, CTO and co-founder of Skylo Technologies . "This important milestone enables devices to be fully compatible and seamlessly integrate with the Skylo satellite network, ensuring optimal performance."
"As a pioneer in developing and certifying NTN testing, Keysight is pleased to support SGS in enhancing its testing services through the Skylo NTN certification program," said Lucas Hansen, vice president of wireless devices and operators at Keysight . "The inclusion of the accredited laboratory mark is a key step in accelerating the deployment of NTN equipment to enable global digital connectivity."
