Oriental Guoxin's 5G integrated pico base station based on Picocom PC802 PHY SoC provides higher deployment flexibility and excellent uplink and downlink rates
Hangzhou, China, February 2023 - Picocom, a provider of 5G small cell baseband chips and carrier-grade software, announced today that the 5G integrated pico base station developed by Beijing Oriental Fortune Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Oriental Fortune) and equipped with Picocom's PC802 small cell baseband/physical layer (PHY) system-on-chip (SoC) has demonstrated a number of excellent test results in operator tests, which can provide more complete technical support for mobile communication services.
The all-in-one 5G NR pico base station developed by Oriental Fortune based on Picotech PC802 PHY SoC is a compact, low-power 5G NR small base station that integrates RF, baseband and backhaul. The small base station can support 4 radio channels, each with a transmit power of 250mW, and can cover many indoor scenarios such as offices, apartments, parking lots, subways, smart factories, etc. Combined with macro base station deployment, Oriental Fortune 5G small base stations can expand 5G coverage, expand network capacity, and improve user experience.

In order to verify that Picocom PC802 PHY SoC and 5G Pico base station products developed by Oriental Fortune based on this chip can meet the strict network operation specifications of operators and bring low power consumption, high performance, easy deployment, plug-and-play and high cost-performance characteristics to vertical industry applications, this operator test systematically and comprehensively tested Oriental Fortune's integrated 5G NR small base station based on Picocom PC802 PHY SoC in terms of function, performance and hardware.
In the functional performance test, Oriental Fortune's 5G small base station performed excellently and reliably in test items such as voice function test, interoperability, measurement and mobility management, latency, and software stability test, meeting the specific requirements of the test items; in the hardware test, all the small base station products submitted by Oriental Fortune met the test requirements.
In addition, during the test, Oriental Fortune's small base station system further demonstrated its "small size and high performance" characteristics, and also verified the powerful in-line hardware acceleration capabilities of Picocom PC802 PHY SoC: it performed well in supporting 5G cell switching and 4G/5G heterogeneous system interoperability, and its user plane latency can be achieved below 10ms; in the network throughput test, under the 7D2U time slot configuration, the downlink rate can reach 700Mbps and the uplink rate can reach 200Mbps.
