According to foreign media reports, ChargePoint, a leading electric vehicle (EV) charging network company, and Gatik, an autonomous freight company, announced a strategic partnership to develop an electric ecosystem for autonomous vehicles, aiming to maximize the sustainability, operational efficiency and economy of both parties' North American customers. After this cooperation, infrastructure and comprehensive services will play an important role in helping the B2B short-distance logistics industry decarbonize, and will provide simple and seamless solutions to help Gatik and ChargePoint's customers achieve their corporate sustainability goals.

“Our collaboration with Gatik will help more fleets achieve their electric mobility and decarbonization goals,” said Rich Mohr, Vice President of Fleet at ChargePoint. “We have proven experience across multiple customer applications and use cases. ChargePoint and Gatik will provide fleets with industry-leading infrastructure and technology.”
“Gatik’s fleet of autonomous electric vehicles is uniquely positioned to improve efficiency and reliability across the supply chain and drive sustainability across key operational metrics for our customers,” said Arjun Narang, Co-Founder and CTO of Gatik. “Our partnership with ChargePoint will ensure that we can not only meet the growing needs of our customers, but also provide them with access to the national charging infrastructure and a wealth of technology to support them in achieving their corporate sustainability goals.”
Through the collaboration, Gatik's autonomous electric fleet cargo transportation customers will have access to ChargePoint's expertise in site design, interoperability verification and reduced investment costs. Gatik can also use a nationwide charging network and fleet-specific software, provide telematics intelligence configuration to each customer operation, and modular charging hardware to minimize upfront costs by reducing the required power capacity. The strategic electric ecosystem of the collaboration focuses on the middle mile and will play a key role in the field of electrified logistics.
Powered by ChargePoint’s scalable and reliable charging technology, Gatik launched its first self-driving electric truck in partnership with Walmart in 2021, providing ultra-efficient cargo transportation, significantly reducing emissions, and effectively saving fuel and powertrain maintenance costs.
Gatik’s partnership with ChargePoint will ensure that customers have access to Gatik’s class 3-6 autonomous electric fleet and ChargePoint’s charging infrastructure and comprehensive services to support a cleaner, more efficient and sustainable logistics industry.
