The 2021 Intelligent Connected Vehicle Summit with the theme of "Smart Cars, Smart Roads, and Innovative Cities" was successfully held in Changsha. At the summit, Yang Ruikai, Vice President of Huawei and President of Digital Government, said that core cities should actively carry out pilot projects in intelligent connected vehicles, develop "smart cars" with intelligent connected vehicles as their characteristics, and realize the integration of electrification, intelligence, and networking; take intelligent connected vehicles as a starting point to promote the integrated development of "smart roads" and realize vehicle-road collaboration; take intelligent connected vehicles as a link to build "innovative cities", realize major industrial transformation, gather innovative ecological partners, and enhance urban competitiveness.
At present, the century-old automobile industry is on the eve of a major change and reshuffle, and the trend of new energy and new intelligence is already overwhelming. Our great motherland has proposed the vision and goal of developing autonomous driving and vehicle-road collaborative travel services in the "14th Five-Year Plan". We will promote the transformation and upgrading of the automobile industry towards electrification, networking, intelligence, and sharing in the field of intelligent networking.
Huawei has been focusing on the ICT industry and has worked with partners to launch a 1+2+3+N intelligent connected solution that integrates vehicles, roads, clouds, networks, and maps. This solution consists of a digital base, two engines, three types of test sites, and N types of innovative scenario applications.
Today, I would like to take this opportunity to share three experiences on how core cities can actively carry out pilot projects in intelligent connected networks:
First, develop "smart cars" with intelligent networking as the feature. New energy vehicles will become the mainstream of development, and the integration of electrification and intelligence will achieve a good saddle for a good horse, further promoting the development of the industry.
In 2025, the sales volume of new energy vehicles in my country will account for about 25%, with annual sales of about 6 million vehicles. The intelligent and networked foundation of new energy vehicles is very good. Based on the new vehicle platform, it has a simpler internal structure and a more advanced vehicle electrical technology architecture, which perfectly combines ICT technology, chemical technology and automobiles. Through the further integration of electrification and intelligence, new functions that better meet the needs of the people are developed, such as collaborative smart public transportation, micro-circulation connection, city-wide smart parking, hybrid accompanying services, dynamic allocation of road rights, etc., providing an integrated mode of transportation, which has become the highlights of new energy vehicle functions.
Huawei will be committed to bringing the digital world into every car, using technology to create, empowering people's fast travel life, and helping new energy vehicles better serve the people.
Second, using intelligent networking as a starting point, we will promote the integrated development of "smart roads", realize vehicle-road coordination, make urban traffic smoother, and lay a good foundation for the future development of core cities.
Intelligent networking is an integrated collaborative working system of vehicles, roads, clouds, networks, and security. It connects people, vehicles, roads, transportation and other application systems, realizes the rapid integration of data flow, business flow and value flow, and comprehensively improves the efficiency of transportation. At the same time, it can gradually free people from the hard driving and finally liberate the hands of drivers. In 2020, Changsha City took the lead in opening the country's first intelligent networked bus route-Smart Bus Line 315. The average vehicle travel time was shortened by about 13.3%, and the average travel speed was increased by about 15.4%. Based on the actual big data of the test area , an intelligent networked cloud platform was created, which made more than 2,000 buses in the city intelligent and realized government supervision.
In May 2021, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Notice on Organizing the Pilot Work of Coordinated Development of Smart City Infrastructure and Intelligent Connected Vehicles", identifying six cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Changsha and Wuxi as the first batch of pilot cities for the coordinated development of smart city infrastructure and intelligent connected vehicles.
Third, with intelligent networking as the link, we will build an "innovative city". In order to seize the new demands and expectations of the people for future urban travel and achieve a major transformation of the industry, Huawei has gathered innovative partners to actively implement the industry landing in Changsha and promote the new development of Changsha's urban transformation.
Riding on the national encouragement of the development of new infrastructure, core cities across the country are intensively promoting the construction and deployment of intelligent network demonstration zones and pilot zones, and the intelligent network industry chain will also take root and blossom in the landing cities. This includes the upstream chips, radars, sensors , high-precision maps, vehicle operating systems, vehicle communications, platforms and security of the industry chain, the midstream new energy vehicles, and the downstream travel services, life entertainment, autonomous driving , shared travel and other industries. Changsha's intelligent networked vehicles have formed a considerable industrial ecology, and the Xiangjiang New District alone has gathered more than 350 ecological enterprises.
Huawei is willing to actively work with partners under the guidance of government leaders and experts at all levels across the country to seize the major opportunities for the development of the intelligent connected industry, make firm investments, overcome difficulties, and work together to achieve the motherland's grand goals of the "14th Five-Year Plan"!
