The following is a simulation step of the PWM waveform output by the PA8, PA9, and PA10 pins of the STM32RCT6 microcontroller. In addition, it also shows the software running process and how to view the real-time data of global variables. I have taken screenshots for each step, so please follow the steps step by step, and feel free to refer to it!
1. Click the target icon, as follows:
2. Choose the model of the MCU chip: I chose the STM32RCT6 model. You can choose according to the model of the stm32 development board you have.
3. Selection of external crystal frequency: 8Mhz (because the external crystal of most microcontrollers is 8Mhz). In order to make the simulation closer to reality, 8Mhz is usually selected.
4. Enter the Debug page to design, pay special attention to the fourth parameter, and make sure to select the correct chip model. Mine is the RC series, so I wrote RC. If it is the RB series, change it to RB later.
5. After configuring the above steps, you can enter the simulation page: The following is to set the pins and variables to be observed
I am observing the waveforms of the PA8, PA9, and PA10 pins. Also, please note that the Display Type must be bit type, otherwise, you will not see the waveform during simulation.
6. Set the global variables: First select the global variable you want to observe, then right-click, and then add the variable to the Watch1 or Watch2 window.
7. Click the Run button to start the program. You will see the waveform and variables of the pin output changing in real time, and the software simulation is successful. There are also some tips that you can pay attention to. Box 1 can be used to zoom in and out the waveform, and box 2 can be used to measure and display the time of a certain section of the output waveform.
