Panasonic Industry places top priority on safety, compactness and reliability of charging units and home wall boxes. Their product range spans from PCB relays and various passive components to thermal interface materials and connectivity solutions, ensuring best-in-class performance for renewable energy applications.
Panasonic products currently offered by element14 include:
The EZPV and ECWFG series film capacitors are compact metallized polypropylene film capacitors that provide high reliability and high scrap safety for interference suppression. The highlight of Panasonic film capacitors is the integrated safety function. The original internal patterned metallization process is the basis for a special structure that acts as a fuse mechanism to protect the capacitor from short-term failure mode failure. These features make the series ideally suited for applications such as input/output filtering of charging stations, inputs to on-board chargers, industrial power supplies, a range of electric vehicles/plug-in hybrids and renewable energy infrastructure. They are ideal for solar inverter, wind power and on-board AC/DC and DC/AC car charging applications.
ETQ-P*M series power inductors have high heat resistance, high efficiency and excellent reliability, and are used in noise filtering of electronic drivers, boost and buck converters, and DC/DC converters, which are important for automotive and other applications. High stress applications are critical. Solar inverters also require inductors capable of handling high voltages and large currents in the main circuit. These requirements are met by using high-quality Panasonic inductors, ensuring stable inductance over a lifetime. These inductors are used in primary circuits. Power inductors are also used in auxiliary circuits for controllers and gate drivers. Their digital logic provides critical control and monitoring functions for solar energy collection systems. Panasonic's metal composite ETQP series of high performance power inductors are suitable for high switching speeds and harsh operating conditions.
The ERJ-P series of high-power surge-resistant thick film chip resistors have a smaller housing size, but have the same or even greater power than traditional size thick film resistors. Their surge characteristics are better than standard metal film resistors. Superior heat dissipation and optimized resistive patterns, resistive materials and electrode designs enable miniaturization and high power ratings. Panasonic resistors use soft termination technology, which means that by using soft resin, the solder joints experience less stress during temperature cycling, minimizing the risk of solder joint cracks. As a result, they have become ideal for electric vehicle charging and energy management applications. At present, the requirements for solar inverters are mainly focused on high voltage, high efficiency, energy saving, long life, etc., which requires resistors to have high reliability, long life, high pressure resistance and high precision. Panasonic's multiple series of resistors are available for solar inverter applications.
Graphite thermal interface material is a compressible type of graphite flake used as a thermal interface material that is very compressible compared to standard pyrolytic graphite flakes. Its high heat resistance and reliability help extend the life and performance of various components. It is particularly suitable for inverters and converters, automotive cameras, motor control units and automotive LEDs.
Power relays are easy-to-use electromechanical relays with switching capacities from 2A to 120A that can be mounted directly on the PCB. For next-generation switching solutions, Panasonic's wide range of relays are critical in applications such as wall boxes and chargers for electric vehicles, inverters in solar power plants, and safety components in battery management units for hybrid and electric vehicles.
SVPC Series OS-CON™ aluminum polymer solid capacitors are available in surface mount and through-hole models. Panasonic capacitors are versatile, with voltages ranging from 2.5 VDC to 16 VDC and capacitance values from 39µF to 2700µF. Their equivalent series resistance (ESR) is low, ranging from 9 mΩ to 35 mΩ. OS-CON capacitors play an important role in the optimization of solar inverters. In order to effectively use the energy produced by the sun, solar panels must continuously absorb the sun's energy as the Earth rotates. By detecting and tracking the active position of the sun, it adjusts the angle of the panel to ensure it is always facing the sun, maximizing solar energy collection. Due to its long life and low ESR variation, even at low temperatures, OS-CON is ideal for outdoor and surveillance camera applications.
Wireless PAN9026: PAN9026 is a 2.4/5 GHz ISM band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless module. The wireless radio frequency in it can easily connect Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to various electronic devices. The module is designed for surface mount devices and has a small footprint of 17.5mm x 10.0mm x 2.6mm. The module's interface includes SDIO 1-bit or 4-bit mode and operates over a temperature range of -30 to +85°C. The PAN902x series perfectly connects charging stations with mobile devices or the cloud.
Customers can purchase Panasonic Industry solar inverters and electric vehicle charging system components through Farnell (EMEA), Newark (North America) and element14 (Asia Pacific).
