The acquisition strengthens Synopsys' SiliconMAX chip lifecycle management platform and expands the dynamic optimization capabilities of chips at the application and system ends.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Nov. 5, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Synopsys, Inc. (Synopsys, Inc.) announced the acquisition of Concertio, a leader in AI-driven performance optimization software, to integrate real-time field optimization technology into its chip lifecycle management solutions. This acquisition is an important strategic layout for Synopsys to further strengthen its SiliconMAX™ chip lifecycle management (SLM) platform. This transaction will not have a material impact on Synopsys' financial condition, so it has not been disclosed.

"Silicon lifecycle management is increasingly critical to the successful deployment and operation of advanced electronic systems," said Shankar Krishnamoorthy, general manager of the Silicon Enablement Group at Synopsys. "The acquisition of Concertio demonstrates Synopsys' continued commitment to extending the capabilities and value of the SiliconMAX SLM platform to meet our customers' growing demand for better insights into silicon and system health."

Synopsys continues to enhance its SiliconMAX SLM platform to further improve the overall performance of chips throughout the entire life cycle, from design implementation to manufacturing, mass production, production testing and application field operation. The platform is seamlessly integrated with Synopsys' industry-leading TestMAX™ series of test products and technologies, and can take advantage of a variety of key automation functions including early RTL analysis, seamless IP integration, and high-speed data access support. In addition, the platform also gains unique capabilities through basic links with Synopsys' Fusion Design Platform™, which can greatly reduce parameter generation failures caused by silicon changes and quickly identify the root cause. These links can also reduce the impact of SLM solutions on design processes and schedules.

New Unique Features Added to SiliconMAX SLM Platform

The rapidly growing demand for computing resources at the edge of applications such as automotive and industrial IoT devices, as well as in cloud-based data centers, is pushing systems to the limits of what can be serviced today. Improving the performance and resiliency of existing systems is critical, and Concertio does this through unique AI-driven dynamic performance optimization software. Autonomous software installed on the target system continuously monitors the interaction between operating applications and the underlying system environment, and gradually understands the behavior of the application through AI-enabled reinforcement learning methods. With this information, the software's optimization engine dynamically adjusts and reconfigures the system, resulting in a self-tuning system that continuously optimizes for current usage.
