According to the current reliable news, Apple's annual flagship iPhone 12 series will still provide four models this fall, including iPhone 12, iPhone 12Max, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. Now that June is coming to an end, the iPhone 12 series flagship is one step closer to debut. Now there is the latest news. Recently, some media revealed that the new 5nm A14 chip that the phone will be equipped with will start mass production at the end of this month.
According to the latest news released by Taiwan media ePrice, TSMC is expected to start mass production of the new A14 Bionic chip that will be the first to be equipped with the iPhone 12 series before the end of this month to ensure that Apple's new mobile phones can be launched as planned. It is reported that the A14 Bionic chip uses a 5nm process technology and the frequency will exceed 3GHz. In addition to performance improvements, the chip is likely to set a new record in transistor scale, possibly exceeding 15 billion transistors, exceeding the 10.3 billion of the Kirin 990 5G, which currently has the largest number of transistors in mobile processors. The density is also expected to reach 171 million/mm2, an increase of more than 80% over the A13. Apple will use this to cram in more powerful CPU, GPU and NPU units to improve the performance of the iPhone 12 mobile phone.
In other aspects, according to previously exposed news, the new iPhone 12 series will provide four models, including iPhone 12, iPhone 12Max, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. All will continue the bangs full-screen design and adopt a flat middle frame similar to the iPhone 4. The two Pro versions will have a 10-bit color depth and a 120Hz refresh rate. All series are equipped with an A14 processor built based on a 5nm process and support 5G networks. In addition, the new series will continue the square camera module of the previous work. Among them, the two iPhone 12 series will be equipped with a rear dual camera, and the two iPhone 12 Pro series will be equipped with a rear triple camera.
It is reported that Apple will complete the testing of the second batch of EVT verification machines in June and start mass production of iPhone 12 in July. However, due to the impact of the epidemic, the four models of the iPhone 12 series will most likely be launched in batches. We will wait and see for more details.
