MT3608 constitutes a 3.7V to 12V boost circuit diagram

To increase the voltage of 3.7V to 12V, boost ICs such as LM2577 and XL6009 are not competent. These components cannot work at such a low voltage of 3.7V. The following introduces a DC-DC boost IC commonly used in low-voltage boost circuits-MT3608, the minimum input voltage can be as low as 2V, and the maximum output voltage can reach 28V.

As shown in the following figure:

Figure 1: 3.7V to 12V boost circuit

The boost circuit in the figure above can increase the voltage of a single lithium battery to 12V, and the maximum output current is about 300mA. The MT3608 in the figure is a 6-pin SMD package DC-DC boost IC, which integrates a MOS field effect tube drive circuit and has a very simple peripheral circuit. The output voltage of the circuit is related to the resistance values of resistors R1 and R2. When R1 uses 19KΩ (a 18KΩ and a 1KΩ resistor can be connected in series) and R2 uses 1KΩ, the output voltage Vout is 12V.

The boost inductor L1 in the circuit can be a 33μH I-shaped inductor, and D1 can be a 1N5819 or SR160 Schottky diode. This circuit can work without debugging as long as the welding is correct.

Figure 2: DC-DC boost circuit module composed of MT3608

The above picture shows a low-voltage DC-DC boost circuit module. This module is mostly designed with boost ICs such as MT3608. The output voltage is adjusted by adjusting the voltage regulator potentiometer on the circuit board. This module is small in size and is very suitable for some small current boost circuits. This boost module uses a single lithium battery as a power source and can be directly installed in the position of the 9V battery of the digital multimeter, replacing the 9V laminated battery in the multimeter.
