Nidec Machine Tools (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd. Pinghu Factory officially started production
Quickly respond to the needs of the Chinese market, such as automobiles and robots
The factory built by Nidec Machine Tool (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Nidec Machine Tool Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") in Pinghu City, Zhejiang Province, China (hereinafter referred to as "Pinghu Factory") was completed and officially put into operation on October 11. The factory is planned to be built with the purpose of "building a rapid supply system for machine tool products to meet the market demand for automobiles, robots, industrial machinery, etc. in China". From March 2023, as the first phase of the project, a three-story factory building with a single floor area of approximately 18,000 square meters was built on a site of approximately 66,000 square meters.
In addition to the machine tool assembly area, parts processing area, and office area, the factory also has a 600-square-meter exhibition hall for the first time in China to display the products of the Pinghu factory and the products of various companies in the machine tool group, including Japanese manufacturing. Through China's efficient production system, it is planned to produce 400 units in the first year of the factory's operation and 800 units in 2030 to improve its responsiveness to customers.
The main products produced by the Pinghu plant include gear processing machine tools with gear hobbing machines (GPH series, GE series) as the core, horizontal machining centers (HMC series) and gear cutting tools. The employees engaged in the production of these products have basic knowledge about machine tools and have received training such as equipment assembly and processing internships in Japan, which can ensure that these products have the same quality as those of the Shiga plant in Japan.
In addition, the factory also plays the role of Japan's procurement window in China, and is committed to improving procurement and purchasing power such as supply chain sharing and development of new trading partners among Nidec Group companies in Pinghu City. In addition, it will strengthen cooperation with PAMA (Shanghai) and Takizawa Mechatronics (Zhejiang) of the Nidec Machine Tool Group, which have been localizing production in China in the early stage, and aim to take the lead in China's market share through group integration.
