Keysight Technologies and CTTL Complete First CTIA MIMO OTA Dynamic Channel Model Test System Validation

The collaboration successfully validated the first dynamic MIMO OTA channel model for 5G NR FR1

The solution can test and verify the actual performance of different terminal equipment manufacturers and chipset suppliers

Keysight Technologies, Inc. recently announced that the company and China Telecommunication Technology Terminal Laboratory have jointly built the first MIMO OTA dynamic channel model test and end-user device performance verification system based on the 5G NR FR1 standard requirements defined by CTIA.

In actual use, the performance of terminal devices is degraded due to various propagation channel effects. These problems can be solved by optimizing the hardware and software design of the terminal and verifying it under real-world scenario conditions. To this end, design engineers need consistent, reliable and repeatable digital twins to simulate the channel transmission effects of the real world.

Keysight Technologies and CTEL Terminal Labs have collaborated to launch a dynamic channel model verification test solution that integrates the first MIMO OTA test system that complies with CTIA standards to meet this need. The new verification tool is based on Keysight's OTA simulation solution, which can simulate real environments and perform OTA tests on terminal devices with multiple antennas. Keysight's solution includes:

Keysight Technologies PROPSIM channel simulation solution

Keysight Technologies UXM 5G Network Emulation Solution

Keysight Technologies PNA Network Analyzer

Keysight Technologies UXA Signal Analyzer

An Xudong, Director of Antenna and Positioning Department, TTDL Terminal Lab said: "The new 5G dynamic MIMO test solution further expands our ability to serve a wide range of customers. The successful launch of this test solution will help TTDL Terminal Lab provide comprehensive services for research, development, testing and certification across the industry."

Cao Peng, vice president and general manager of Keysight's wireless test division , said: "We are pleased to provide the world's first MIMO OTA test system with dynamic channel model verification capabilities. As a major contributor to CTIA, Keysight will continue to promote the development of industry standards."
