The sensor field itself is quite large, but many sub-tracks are almost dominated by international hegemons. However, the development speed in China in recent years is also very amazing, with a large number of technological breakthroughs and breakthroughs in many sub-tracks.
In fact, through EEWorld's survey of engineers, it was found that there are many domestic sensor products that can compete with foreign products. These products not only meet engineering requirements in terms of parameters, but more importantly, are durable and can maintain good detection accuracy in harsh environments.
Products highly recognized by hardware engineers
Minxin's waterproof pressure sensor (piezoresistive and capacitive) MSPC15M-ADS1 is favored by engineers and used in many products. It is based on MEMS technology, with dedicated integrated circuits with independent intellectual property rights, and a unique LGA stacking package to achieve high altitude and deep water pressure detection, improving the system's integration and performance.
According to the datasheet, the MSPC15M-ADS1 is a waterproof pressure sensor based on LGA packaging technology. The device integrates a 24-bit Sigma-Delta ADC, OTP memory and I2C/SPI communication interface. The external MCU reads the data converted by the ADC through the I2C/SPI communication interface, and reads the device calibration parameters stored in the OTP. In terms of accuracy, it can achieve ±1hPa accuracy within 300-1100hPa, and ±30hPa accuracy within 1100-5000hPa; in terms of pressure resistance, it can be used normally from 8000 meters above sea level to 30 meters underwater, and can achieve pressure detection at the deepest point of 100 meters underwater, and can withstand 100,000 impacts without damage; in terms of waterproofness, through the independently developed medium-isolated waterproof glue, pressure transmission can be achieved while protecting the device from seawater corrosion, which is suitable for wearable products such as bracelets and watches; in terms of power consumption, the ASIC has a built-in 1kHz first-in-first-out (FIFO) buffer, which reduces the built-in 32-level first-in-first-out (FIFO) buffer for users to store temperature data and pressure data, which can reduce the intervention of the main control. The main control can be woken up regularly to achieve the function of low power consumption of the whole machine.
According to engineers, the sensor has multiple advantages such as high precision, waterproofness, pressure resistance and low power consumption. Its high-precision characteristics enable it to provide reliable data support in various application scenarios. At the same time, the application of waterproof glue effectively protects the sensor from corrosive liquids such as seawater, and is suitable for wearable devices and other fields. In addition, the MSPC15M-ADS1 has excellent pressure resistance, can work stably in extreme environments, and has strong impact resistance. The low-power design enables the sensor to have better endurance in long-term work and mobile device applications.
It not only improves the system's integration and efficiency, but also performs well in practical applications, and has broad market prospects and application potential. "As a hardware engineer, I highly appreciate the performance of this product," said the engineer.
There are also PPG chips in China
Nowadays, most smart watches can detect many health-related parameters, among which photoplethysmography (PPG) is a relatively hot technology in the industry. Among PPG health detection chips, Goodix Technology's GH3030 has attracted much attention from engineers.
It is a health monitoring chip that integrates multi-channel PPG. It has monitoring functions such as heart rate (HR), heart rate variability (HRV) and blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), as well as ultra-low power consumption and ultra-high precision. It is suitable for high-end smart watches, smart bracelets, professional sports equipment, medical equipment, etc.
In terms of parameters, it has 4 independent PPG channels, supports synchronous sampling to reduce; supports 4 differential PDs or 8 single-ended PDs multiplexing PPG channels, 4 high-precision 24-bit ADCs; ultra-low dark current noise of <14 pArms: 4 LED drivers, supporting up to 16 LEDs, each driver has a peak current of 200 mA; a maximum system SNR of 110 dB ensures high-precision PPG measurement; supports up to 128 sampling channels per sampling cycle, ambient light; a suppression ratio of 80 dB; automatic LED dimming and automatic gain control; supports SPI and IIC communication; the package adopts WLCSP, 49 pins, 0.35 mm pitch 2.645 mm * 2.645 mm * 0.5 mm; large-capacity FIFO, area 1: 16 k Byte (3.2 k sampling points), area 2: 80 k Byte (16 k sampling points); typical applications include consumer electronics: wearable devices.
According to engineers, Goodix's products have become internationalized, for example, they have been included in the products of manufacturers such as Samsung. Their parameters are also very competitive, they are durable and the measurements are very precise.
Sensors that compete with foreign ones
Sony and Samsung have always dominated the CIS (CMOS image sensor) market, and a number of excellent companies have begun to emerge in China. Among them, SmartSens was mentioned the most, especially its SC431AI CMOS sensor for AI.

Under the normal working scene of 30fps frame rate, the power consumption of SC431AI is as low as 100mW, which is significantly better than other products of the same specification in the industry. It helps various battery-powered camera applications such as home IPC to shoot all day long.

Some engineers recommend Sifang Optoelectronics PM3009. They say: "Sifang Optoelectronics PM3009 is really durable and maintains good detection accuracy in harsh environments."
Some engineers made recommendations based on brands, including Hangzhou Juelan Technology, China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, Silan Microelectronics, etc., which are all well-known.
Some engineers admitted that domestic sensors are used relatively less frequently, but they also used some domestic photosensitive and thermal sensors, and hoped that more good domestic products would be recommended.
