Analog Devices launches long-distance single-pair Power over Ethernet (SPoE) solution to enable smart building and factory automation
Beijing, China - November 17, 2022 - Analog Devices, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADI) announces the launch of long-distance single-pair Power over Ethernet (SPoE) power supply equipment (PSE) and powered device (PD) solutions to help customers Add intelligence to smart buildings, factory automation and other applications at the edge of traditional networks. This series of solution products supports real-time power management and telemetry functions. It not only has ultra-low standby power consumption, but is also easy to install, which is conducive to opening up the "last mile" power supply connection in factory and building automation applications.
Leo McHugh, vice president of ADI's Industrial Automation Group, said: "As computing power is pushed into previously unimaginable applications and areas, the intelligent edge has become one of the most exciting development directions in the digital age. ADI is committed to providing outstanding Technologies and solutions that help customers realize the full potential of the intelligent edge in smart buildings and factories and many more applications in the future.”
Building the digital building of the future
Analog Devices' new SPoE solutions, the LTC4296-1 and LTC9111, address the challenges of providing power and data to devices even in remote, hard-to-reach endpoint locations. The solution is designed to seamlessly deliver power and data over the network to new endpoint applications while providing assessment of local factors such as asset health, environmental conditions, safety metrics and more. The local sensing and control capabilities it provides will become the cornerstone of building future digital buildings.
ADI's SPoE solution uses a single twisted pair Ethernet cable to provide efficient, reliable, easy-to-install power that is smaller and lighter, reducing reliance on local power and batteries. When paired with ADI's Chronous™ ADIN1100 and ADIN1110 10BASE-T1L industrial Ethernet solutions, customers can reliably transmit power and data across distances of more than one kilometer, a significant increase over previous Ethernet standards.
interoperability efficiency
Analog Devices' new 5-port SPoE PSE LTC4296-1 (with classification) and SPoE PD LTC9111 (with polarity correction) support single-pair powered SPoE and power over data line (PoDL) versions. SPoE enhances Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) to provide a more reliable, fault-tolerant and interoperable point-to-point power solution with power up to 52W. Both products are 802.3cg compliant and support the Serial Communications Classification Protocol (SCCP).
