Monochrome LCD screens usually have two types: flat backlight and injection molded backlight.
1. Flat-panel backlight means that the light guide plate is cut manually and does not require mold making, but the uniformity will be worse. Most of the flat-panel backlights on the market are of this type.
The conventional connection method is shown in the figure. Insert the backlight pin into the circuit board and fix it initially by welding. Then press the LCD screen onto the backlight and press it down with the structure.
Another connection method is cable connection, which is usually used when the LCD screen is also connected by cable, as shown in the figure:
This connection method has relatively high requirements on the customer's structure. It is best to have corresponding slots on the structural parts to fix the screen and backlight. Correspondingly, this structure is easier to assemble and maintain, but the cost is also slightly higher, and a cable arrangement mold needs to be opened.
2. Injection molded backlight means that the entire light guide plate is made by injection molding, which has good uniformity and can be made in a relatively thin size. At the same time, it can also be made to meet requirements such as heightening, retaining walls, and buckles. As shown in the figure:
Most of the connection methods are to insert the backlight pins into the circuit board and fix them by welding. Unlike the flat-panel backlight, it is very convenient to assemble because of the retaining walls and buckles made of molds, which is also conducive to fixation.
Of course, it can also be connected by flat cables, the principle is the same as above. As shown in the figure:
