u-blox releases OSNMA firmware update to enhance anti-spoofing and anti-jamming capabilities
u-blox (SIX:UBXN), a global leader in positioning and wireless communication technologies and services, has announced that a firmware update for its ZED-F9P high-precision GNSS module supports Galileo OSNMA (Open Service Navigation Message Authentication) for the first time.
This firmware update can effectively improve the spoofing detection and interference detection capabilities of the multi-band GNSS module to ensure stable and reliable positioning performance in various applications such as robotic lawn mowers, unmanned aerial vehicles and surveying and mapping.
The ZED-F9P-05B is the first u-blox product to feature OSNMA, a strong encryption solution that is resistant to spoofing, setting new industry standards in GNSS security and reliability.
This firmware update is designed to ensure the superior performance of the ZED-F9P-05B. Features include enhanced spoofing and interference detection capabilities to ensure end products are tamper-resistant and resistant to malicious attacks. The firmware update also improves real-time kinematic positioning (RTK) convergence to reduce the risk of false readings in survey-related applications.
The firmware update also adds support for the SPARTN BeiDou satellite constellation, which further improves the overall performance of the GNSS receiver and improves the performance of the u-blox PointPerfect GNSS correction service in some areas. Because the receiver uses an advanced ionospheric model, it can also provide stronger performance during periods of high ionospheric activity.
