u-blox and Nordian expand PointPerfect GNSS correction service into Brazil with new L-band satellite service for key agricultural regions
Recently, u-blox (SIX:UBXN), a global leading supplier of positioning and wireless communication technologies and services, and Nordian, a GNSS hardware solution and service provider focusing on the South American market, jointly announced that they will further expand the PointPerfect global navigation satellite system (GNSS) correction service in Brazil by enabling L-band satellite transmission . Nordian will directly sell PointPerfect services in Brazil and provide support to local customers.
Previously, PointPerfect GNSS correction services in Brazil were only available via cellular communications, which were limited by insufficient network coverage throughout the country. Now, users in Brazil can access PointPerfect via L-band satellites and accelerate new product launches using Nordian’s Precisio OEM board.
This will help customers reliably, cost-effectively and efficiently access GNSS correction data streams in areas without cellular network coverage, thereby supporting advanced navigation applications that require centimeter-level positioning accuracy.
PointPerfect is a PPP-RTK GNSS correction service that provides 3-6 cm accuracy and convergence time in seconds across continents, and operates continuously with 99.9% reliability. The PointPerfect service is an ideal solution for agricultural autonomous driving applications, such as operating automated machinery, field mapping and monitoring, or navigating autonomous mobile robots.
PointPerfect offers flexible and affordable usage-based pricing plans instead of the expensive annual subscription plans commonly seen in the market. Customers only pay when they actually use the service during the planting and harvesting seasons, thereby reducing operating costs.
