On July 23, according to domestic media reports, the adaptation of WeChat to the Hongmeng system is getting closer and closer, and some users have received relevant notifications recently.

The report mentioned that a HarmonyOS NEXT test user claimed to have received a follow-up call from Huawei Terminal, in which the other party asked about his experience using NEXT, whether it could be used as his main phone, and why it could not be used as his main phone yet.

"He said the reason was that there was no WeChat. Then the customer service asked him what WeChat functions he needed to use as a main phone, because WeChat functions were not all available at once. He mentioned a payment function and a group chat function. He guessed that a pure Hongmeng version of WeChat would be coming soon, but it might not be directly available on the shelves. "

Previously, Tencent’s customer service department confirmed that the WeChat team is working closely with Huawei to jointly commit to the development, adaptation and technical communication of the Hongmeng native operating system.

In addition, Huawei's latest announcement shows that the development process of HarmonyOS native applications has entered the full sprint stage. Currently, more than 5,000 applications have started development, of which more than 1,500 applications have been launched, indicating that the HarmonyOS ecosystem is becoming increasingly rich and complete.
