According to reports, STMicroelectronics recently announced that its product department will be reorganized, and the reorganization plan will officially take effect on February 5, 2024. This news has attracted widespread attention in the industry.
It is reported that this organizational structure adjustment involves the product department. The original three product departments will be integrated into two, named APMS and MDRF. APMS includes analog, power and discrete devices, MEMS, and sensors, while MDRF covers microcontrollers, digital ICs, and RF products. Marco Monti, former president of ST's Automotive and Discrete Products Group, will leave the company.
Under the new organizational structure, APMS will be led by ST President and Executive Committee Member Marco Cassis. The main responsibility of this department is to integrate ST's analog product lines, which include automotive smart power solutions, power and discrete product lines (covering silicon carbide products), as well as MEMS and sensor technologies.
MDRF, on the other hand, will be led by ST President and Executive Committee Member Remi El-Ouazzane. MDRF will cover digital ICs, microcontrollers (including automotive microcontrollers), radio frequency products, ADAS and infotainment ICs.
In addition to the adjustment of product departments, ST also plans to launch novel application marketing organizations in various regional markets to better meet the needs of automobiles, industrial electronics and energy, industrial automation and the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence, personal electronics, communication equipment and computers Peripheral equipment and other four major end market demand.
ST President and CEO Jean-Marc Chery said that this adjustment of the organizational structure is part of the company's efforts to accelerate market launch, strengthen product development innovation and improve operational efficiency. He said that the company will better adapt to market changes with a more flexible structure, strengthen professional services for different market segments, and provide customers with better solutions.
