CL6012_FM Tuner_On-Board Design Guide_Ver1CL6012 FM Tuner On-Board Design GuideCL6012 FM Tuner On-board Design Guide1. Application Schematic Design Considerations1.1 Application Reference Schematic1.2 Notes on Schematic Design1) Generally, the baseband of a mobile phone provides a 32.768khz clock as the reference clock input for the FM tuner. The phase noise of the reference clock will directly affect the performance of the FM tuner (such as the signal-to-noise ratio). Since the 32.768khz clock provided by different solutions is generated in different ways, its phase noise varies greatly. Some are synthesized by software, and compared to the 32.768khz clock generated by a crystal oscillator, the phase noise is much different, resulting in a sharp deterioration in the FM output signal-to-noise ratio. To reduce the impact of 32.768khz clock phase noise and improve FM output signal-to-noise ratio, the bandwidth of the external loop filter can be reduced, that is, the device values at DPLL_LPF can be modified, as shown in mark 1, the default is: C3=1nF, C2=33nF, R1=3.9kohm, and after modification is: C3=47nF, C2=470nF, R1=1kohm, that is, the values in brackets. In order to reduce the peak-to-peak value of the reference clock, two 22pF capacitors are added externally to reduce the peak-to-peak value from 3V to 1V, as shown in the figure below. In addition, if the peak-to-peak value of the reference clock is not reduced, it is recommended to connect a 220nF DC blocking capacitor in series, as shown in the mark 2. Comlent Technol……
