New product recommendations of the week: ADI miniaturized digitally tunable filters and Molex series Wi-Fi and Bluetooth external antennas
Digi-Key Daily Short Video
This issue of Digi-Key Daily recommends two products:
ADI's
ADMV8818
digitally tunable filter and Molex's 2.4/5GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth external antenna.
Product 1
:
ADI's ADMV8818 digitally tunable filter
Digitally tunable filters can serve as a smaller and more compact alternative to large switched filter banks and cavity tuned filters, providing a solution with dynamically adjustable operating frequency in advanced communication applications such as aerospace and defense.
ADI 's ADMV8818 is a fully monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) with four independently controlled high-pass filters (HPFs) and four independently controlled low-pass filters (LPFs) operating in the 2 GHz to 18 GHz frequency range that can be programmed using a 4-wire serial port interface (SPI).
The controller for each filter in the ADMV8818 is 4 bits wide, providing 16 states to adjust its 3dB cutoff frequency, producing a bandwidth of up to 4GHz. The digital switched capacitors used in this device provide improved filter linearity and frequency response compared to other varactor-based solutions. Its typical insertion loss is 3dB, and its broadband rejection is 3dB, which can minimize system harmonics.

Product 2 : Molex 2.4/5GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth External Antenna
Whether it is the Internet of Things, connected home devices, telecommunications, infrastructure, or connected commercial vehicles, antennas with excellent high-frequency performance and reliability are essential for wireless connectivity. Molex 's 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth antennas are suitable for these wide range of application scenarios.
Molex's range of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth external antennas include different shapes and sizes, as well as various mounting options and connector types, such as SMA, U.FL, FAKRA and N-type; different part numbers provide single-band, dual-band, and even tri-band options to cover all Wi-Fi frequencies, including the new 6GHz band.
All of these antennas have an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C, making them ideal solutions for wireless interconnect applications in the IoT era.
