Starting from this month (March 1, 2023), the fourth version of the Bluetooth SIG Trademark License Enforcement Program [1] has officially come into effect. We hereby present to you some important changes brought about by this update. .

Trademark Licensing Compliance Review Program
The Bluetooth SIG's compliance review scope includes all products officially sold and using the Bluetooth trademark. If the alliance reviewer cannot verify whether the relevant product meets the requirements of the Bluetooth qualification process in the product listing and declaration documents, the corresponding member company will be notified of the possible non-compliance. During the review process, the Alliance will use product names and model numbers found on member company websites or marketing channels (including third-party retailers) and compare them with product data declared in the Bluetooth Product Listing Database. comparing. The Bluetooth SIG recommends that all member companies ensure that their products using the Bluetooth trademark have correctly completed the qualification certification process and that the application information is available in the Bluetooth product listing database.
The current trademark licensing review plan mainly includes the following categories:
Compliance Folder Audits
The Alliance will regularly conduct random inspections of certification documents submitted by members, and conduct on-site inspections of members’ full set of compliance documents (the implementation standards are subject to the description of the Qualification Certification Plan Reference Document [2] ). The scope of the current compliance folder review is focused on verifying that the product meets the written requirements of the Bluetooth Qualification Process Documentation.

Product Listing Audits
The Alliance will regularly conduct random inspections of product listings submitted by members. The current listing review is designed to verify whether the product meets the requirements of the Bluetooth Qualification Process. The alliance review specialist or his authorized agent will notify relevant member companies 30 days before the official review begins to inform them that the product listing submitted during the qualification certification process will be subject to the alliance's compliance review.
Product Compliance Audits
Product compliance reviews are designed to verify that a product meets the requirements of the Bluetooth qualification process. Usually includes testing of the product itself and interoperability with other products. If potential problems are discovered during testing, subsequent compliance investigations will be initiated (for example, the product will be sent to a testing agency for further testing). Members need to declare all Bluetooth protocols and application scenarios (profiles) used by their products in the Implementation Conformance Statement. Such audits are conducted at any time without prior notice.
Violation Processing
If a member's product uses the Bluetooth trademark without correctly completing the corresponding Bluetooth qualification certification process, the member will be deemed to have violated the provisions of the Bluetooth Membership Agreements (Membership Agreements) and will trigger subsequent compliance investigations. Once a member's violation is verified, the Bluetooth SIG review specialist will intervene in the audit and document all investigation results and processes.
Finally, a typical alliance review process is presented through a brief description of pictures and texts:
1. Find relevant product information (brand logo, product name, model, etc.)
2. Search for relevant product listing information in the corresponding member company qualification certification project
3. Compare the collected product information with the declared information, and determine whether the relevant products have correctly completed the Bluetooth qualification certification process.
