Melexis' RGB LED automotive ambient lighting products (also known as LIN RGB) have been favored by the global market. As an upgraded version of MLX81113, MLX81114 is a LIN slave control chip for automotive ambient lighting applications, which can control multiple LED lights through LIN wiring harness connection. Compared with the previous MLX81113, it has a new memory access protection option, which can realize anti-theft applications, and provides SOIC 8 packaging.

The MLX81114 is suitable for bus systems that comply with the LIN 2.x and SAE J2602 standards. This product combines the physical layer LIN transceiver, LIN protocol controller and current control output, allowing users to develop simple, powerful and cost-effective ambient lighting modules connected to the LIN bus system in a short time.

The MLX81114 is the latest in the Melexis RGB LED automotive ambient lighting portfolio, providing sophisticated and cost-effective ambient lighting for entry-level, mid-range and luxury models.

■ 4 high voltage I/Os with freely configurable current source (up to 60 mA) for RGB + W

■ 4-channel 16-bit PWM output

■ 10-bit ADC with DMA support

■ Diagnostic functions for LED connections (short circuit, open circuit, threshold)

■ Standby current consumption in sleep mode as low as 25 µA (typ., 50 µA max.)

■ Integrated battery monitor including overvoltage and undervoltage detection

■ Automotive temperature range: -40°C to 125°C

■ 28 V starter

■ Integrated temperature sensor

■ Developed according to ISO26262 standard, supports safety level up to ASIL-A

■ AECQ-100 certified

■ SOIC8 package with exposed pad
