Industry’s first NVMe 1.4 verification IP for high-performance computing
Cadence releases industry's first NVMe 1.4 verification IP for high-performance computing
Cadence VIP supports TripleCheck
Dramatically shortens product time to market and supports next-generation NVMe standards
Shanghai, China, October 29, 2019 - Cadence Electronics (Cadence, Inc., NASDAQ: CDNS) has launched the industry's first verification IP (VIP) product that supports the NVM Express 1.4 (NVMe) protocol. Cadence VIP for the NVMe 1.4 protocol can help designers quickly, comprehensively and more effortlessly verify storage, data center and high-performance computing (HPC) system-on-chip (SoC) designs to ensure that the SoC meets the protocol standards.
Cadence VIP for NVMe 1.4 protocol supports Cadence's "intelligent system design" strategy and uses the best IP to achieve excellent SoC design. To learn more about Cadence VIP for NVMe 1.4 protocol, visit www.cadence.com/go/NVMeVIP.
The new Cadence VIP for the NVMe 1.4 protocol provides customers with a comprehensive verification solution to help them quickly develop high-quality NVMe hosts and device controllers and shorten the overall time to market. NVMe 1.4 VIP offers built-in integration with Cadence VIP for PCI Express® (PCIe®) 5.0, including the full UVM SystemVerilog API for high-speed integration and SoC-level test creation. With Cadence TripleCheck™ technology, customers can ensure support for specifications with a verification plan with measurable goals tied to proprietary characteristics, and a complete test suite that can be executed at any time.
“Our design team successfully applied Cadence VIP with NVMe support when developing flash memory controller products,” said Mr. Takehiko Tsuchiya, Design Technology Group Manager of KIOXIA’s Design Technology Innovation Division. "NVMe 1.4 VIP plays an important role in our development of next-generation products and high-performance data interface support."
"Many enterprise systems use PCIe-based solid-state storage and continue to put forward new requirements. The new NVMe 1.4 protocol came into being for this reason." Moshik Rubin, Director of Verification IP Product Management of Cadence's Systems and Verification Division, said, "Cadence is committed to In order to support the latest standards, we ensure that customers have the tools they need to develop differentiated products. The first VIP on the market for the NVMe 1.4 protocol can help many early adopters of the protocol avoid risks and ensure that designs comply with specifications. Quickly achieve IP and SoC verification convergence.”
Cadence VIP, which uses TripleCheck technology and supports the NVMe 1.4 protocol, is part of the Cadence verification suite. It is optimized for Xcelium parallel logic simulation and supports third-party simulation tools. The verification suite consists of best-in-class core engines and verification architecture technologies that support Cadence's "Intelligent System Design" strategy to help achieve excellence in SoC design.
