At the "2018 China ICT Entrepreneurs Conference" held yesterday, Jerry Fan, president of ADI China, gave a keynote speech analyzing the current situation of the ICT industry, just like the famous quote from "A Tale of Two Cities" by British writer Dickens. Jerry pointed out in his speech that throughout the three industrial revolutions, energy, transportation and information communication and transmission methods have become the driving forces of the three industrial revolutions, including the infrastructure construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, which is also carried out around these three factors. In this wave of industrial revolution, these three factors themselves are also changing.

The generation, storage, transmission and utilization of energy are all undergoing changes. New energy, renewable energy and smart grids have become the new themes of energy. A large number of innovative technologies are changing the industry, such as battery pack storage, smart grid monitoring, smart metering, deployment of car charging piles, and so on.

Vehicle electrification, autonomous driving, and transportation as a service are three shock waves that are subverting the century-old modern transportation industry. Autonomous driving technology has brought changes to the world beyond people's imagination: improved safety; reduced greenhouse gas emissions; shared vehicles, people are no longer keen on buying cars; intelligent roads, greatly reducing congestion; saving travel time, improving productivity, etc. The vision of autonomous driving also comes from the influence of ICT technology, such as environmental perception technology, digital road traffic, various sensors around the car body, radar, lidar, inertial navigation, visual sensors, etc., which are like putting on a smart shell for the car.
