[Chuanglong TL570x-EVM] HDMI error [Copy link]

In order to test QT, I prepared to connect the HDMI interface to the display. I followed the user manual and the display error:

I set up according to the operation:

Then after startup, the following error appears:

At this point, the evaluation cannot be carried out, please provide technical support...

Judging from your error message, it seems that there is a problem with the connection between the main control and the display. If you find that it is related to the HDMI cable, you can check the 14th pin of the two HDMI cables. This pin is different in different uses. Of course, if you don’t want to spend any more time, as long as it can be used, congratulations!   Details Published on 2022-6-4 12:37

There is a problem with I2C. I2C sends address signals but no response is received from the other side. Try changing the display (display?).

I2C has nothing to do with HDMI. It reports an error when connected to a monitor, but it works fine when it is displayed elsewhere.  Details Published on 2022-6-2 07:12

I don't know if your system HDMI has DDC, which is I2C. The control chip uses DDC to communicate with the monitor.

You know, a lot of system setup happens over I2C.

I see your system is stuck in the state of being unable to set the chip's power mode. It may be that I2C cannot communicate.

Log information shows that I2C is wrong (of course, the information displayed in the log is not necessarily reliable)

If you want my advice, I can help you debug further. If not, just stop here.

Sorry, the time is different. It's 7:30 pm now.

However, if you think it is helpful, I will sort out my thoughts and experiences and send them to you for reference later.

Looking at your process carefully, you used the terminal to input the first two steps of #boot, and the third step is a cold start?, Can you use the terminal to issue the boot as the manufacturer gave?

It is possible that the manufacturer allows some activity on cold start and other settings on hot start.

env has been saved to MMC, can you still boot normally?

If it can boot normally, it seems that the changes you wrote do not work?

I haven't used this board, but from your log, it seems that there are two MMCs for startup. For example, the cold start uses MMC1, and you are writing to MMC2?

Maybe it's just my whim.

Do I need to decrypt the chip before changing the internal power mode?

I was careless. Your log information is before the modification. The I2C error existed before the modification.

But could it be that you plugged in the HDMI monitor too early, causing the system to try to connect with an error? Wait until you set up the boot before plugging it in again?

HDMI supports hot plug.

Please try several situations. After entering the system, the confirmation has been completed, but the monitor may not be recognized.

Of course, if it succeeds the first time, there should be no problem in the future. (The settings should be saved in MMC)

Can you output a log file to clearly see all the prompts during boot and compare the differences when it is set to LCD?

Another possibility is, are you in super user mode? If you do not have sufficient permissions, you are not allowed to modify the internal files.

I borrowed a monitor with HDMI interface from a colleague, but the general HDMI cable doesn't work. I have to use the HDMI cable that comes with it to display. I don't know why! I have communicated with the official, and it seems that they must use their hardware according to the application scenario to be applicable. Thank you very much for your support! Their HDMI cable is 50cm, I don't know how they designed it.

Thank you very much for your attention to me, because this board is just a so-called "borrowing", and I may have a better board to adapt later. I feel that Chuanglong looks down on me as a niche developer, so I will not delve into it further.  Details Published on 2022-6-4 15:48
