illustrate

Below is the circuit diagram of a simple 100 watt inverter using IC CD4047 and IRF540 MOSFET . The circuit is simple, low cost, and can even be assembled with a veroboard.

CD 4047 is a low-power CMOS astable/monostable multivibrator IC. Here it is connected to produce 0.01S 180 degree phase IC's pins 10 and 11 of two pulse trains as an astable multivibrator. Pin 10 is connected to the gate of Q1 and pin 11 is connected to the gate of Q2. Resistors R3 and R4 prevent the IC from loading their respective MOSFETs . When pin 10 is high Q1 conducts current flow through the upper half of the transformer 's primary which accounts for the positive half of the output AC voltage. When pin 11 high second quarter conducts current flow through the lower half of the transformer primary in the opposite direction, it accounts for the negative half of the output AC voltage.

Precautions

The B1 can power a 12V/6AH lead-acid battery.

Q1 and Q2 must have appropriate heat sinks installed.

T1 can be a 9-0-9 V primary, secondary, 230V 150VA transformer .

Don't expect anything from this circuit. It is a very simple application suitable for lower grade students.
