【Renesas RA8D1 board】 Repair board buttons [Copy link]

This post was last edited by TL-LED on 2024-7-31 23:45

1. Board Problem

After receiving the board, I saw that both buttons on the board were damaged.

2. Board button repair

2.1. Circuit diagram of the key part.

There are two buttons defined on the board. One is reset and the other is user button. Two pads of the user button on the board have fallen off. The reset button pads are intact.

2.2. Replace the button

I bought keys of the same specifications online and started replacing them.

Before replacing it, let's analyze where the fallen pad is connected to.

Find the nearest solder joint to make a connection and restore the button function.

2.2.1. Remove the damaged button and remove the solder on the pad.

2.2.2, Pad connection point

After measurement, the solder joint below and the PB08 pin are directly connected.

2.2.3. Connect solder joints to pads

2.2.4. Repair soldering pads

I guess it's the first time to run it, but the problem is not big, looking forward to the review   Details Published on 2024-8-1 11:40

There doesn't seem to be any solder pads where you wired it?

I don't understand what they used to weld the detached parts.

It looks more serious than described. It was said before that only one was broken.

There is a via under the reset button. Scrape off the green oil and connect it with the loose pad using copper wire.
