Comparison of Turbo Code Implementations Using DSP and FPGA[Copy link]
Turbo codes are highly valued in mobile communication systems for their excellent error correction performance. In order to more accurately control the time required for signal processing in engineering practice and more effectively optimize the allocation and layout of hardware resources, the choice of which method to implement Turbo codes has become a matter of concern. To address this issue, based on the introduction of the encoding and decoding algorithm principles of Turbo codes, the encoder and the decoder based on the Max-Log-Map algorithm were designed and implemented using FPGA and DSP respectively, and the differences between the two methods in processing time, resource usage and implementation difficulty were compared, providing a data reference for engineering applications.
