Sensor Tower releases global mobile game revenue rankings for March: Chinese manufacturers earn 14.1 billion yuan

      Mobile app data analysis company Sensor Tower today announced the revenue rankings of Chinese mobile game publishers in the global App Store and Google Play in March.

  Data shows that 38 of the top 100 manufacturers in terms of revenue in March this year were Chinese manufacturers. These 38 manufacturers collectively earned more than US$2.22 billion (approximately RMB 14.119 billion), accounting for nearly 40.2% of the revenue of the world's top 100 mobile game publishers.

  IT Home learned that due to the launch of version 2.6 of "Genshin Impact" and a new five-star character, MiHoYo's revenue in the mobile market increased by 18% month-on-month this month, returning to the third place in the global mobile game publisher revenue list; therefore, the TOP3 of the global mobile game publisher revenue list in March was once again occupied by Chinese manufacturers (Tencent, NetEase, and MiHoYo).

  In addition to these three companies, the revenue of other companies is also very good. For example, ByteDance has performed very well in the overseas market with "RO Ragnarok: The Birth of a New Generation", "High Energy Figure Group" and "Dark Nemesis: Infinite Quest", and has made it all the way to 24th place.

  Leiting Games' "One Thought of Freedom" revenue increased by 23% month-on-month. The mobile game "Wendao" revenue increased by 62% month-on-month, thus returning to the top 10; the mobile game revenue of 37 Interactive Entertainment also achieved growth across the board, with its revenue in March increasing by 11% month-on-month, and the revenue of games in the Japanese and Korean markets increased by 27% month-on-month.

  In addition, Perfect World launched "Fantasy New Zhu Xian" in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan in mid-March. Coupled with the increase in revenue from products such as "Fantasy Westward Journey" and "Zhu Xian" in the Chinese market, the publisher's revenue this period increased by 31% month-on-month, ranking 20th on the list; Longteng Jianhe's empire simulation mobile game "King's Choice" again increased by 26% month-on-month this period, and therefore rose 3 places to 23rd.

  Outside the list, the Chinese mobile game publishers shortlisted for the global top 100 in terms of revenue are Duoyi Network, Xinghe Interactive Entertainment, Poke City, Zilong Games, Chuangku Interactive, X.D. Network, Yale Technology and Hero Entertainment, a total of 38 manufacturers.

  Top 20 mobile games by revenue on the Chinese App Store

  In March, Tencent's "Honor of Kings" revenue increased by 20% month-on-month, ranking second in terms of revenue since its listing, second only to June 2021; NetEase's "Fantasy Westward Journey" mobile game revenue increased by 31% month-on-month. The revenue of the board games "Fishing Battle" and "JJ Landlord" increased by 29% and 59% month-on-month, respectively, both setting new historical highs.
