According to Jiwei.com news, according to TrendForce research, in 2021, Chinese and European telecommunications equipment manufacturers still accounted for more than 70% of the global market share. The top three operators were China's Huawei 30%, Sweden's Ericsson 23%, and Finland's Nokia 20%. Although Huawei continues to be listed as a banned manufacturer by the US government, the main reason why it still dominates the world in market share is its price advantage and the support of China's huge domestic demand market.
It is worth mentioning that Samsung, with its low prices and successful commercialization, has become the key to pushing its market share to 12.5% this year and ranking fourth in the world. It not only provides base station construction to the three major operators in South Korea, but also cooperates with American operators AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon, and has signed a base station supply agreement with Japanese operator NTT DoCoMo. In addition, Japan's NEC also received its first overseas 5G base station order, cooperating with British operator Vodafone; and Japan's Fujitsu is also a potential alternative 5G equipment supplier for the British government.
TrendForce said that remote work and teaching have stimulated a significant increase in network traffic load rate, and the global average network traffic has increased by more than 40% during the epidemic prevention period. 5G has high traffic and low latency transmission characteristics that meet the current market demand. In addition, with the increase in 5G commercial demand in various countries, according to the announcement of the Global Mobile Communications Suppliers Association (GSA), more than 800 5G products suitable for consumers and enterprises have been released to support faster and more convenient network services and diversified applications. All of the above have contributed to the increase in demand for 5G base stations.

According to TrendForce research data, as of the end of 2020, China's 5G network users have exceeded 160 million, accounting for approximately 89% of the world's total 5G users; as of July 2021, China's three major operators, China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom, have built 916,000 5G base stations in China, accounting for a total of 70% of the world's total, which is enough to show the considerable scale of the Chinese market and has become the key to supporting Huawei's mobile communication base station market share performance in the past two years.
