The latest news shows that Nvidia will stop producing the SoC currently built into the Nintendo Switch - NVIDIA Tegra X1 Mariko. A person familiar with the matter revealed to GameReactor that after Nintendo and Samsung are rumored to have reached an agreement on OLED panel production, Nvidia will stop producing the Tegra X1 Mariko chip this year, which powers the regular and Lite versions of the Nintendo Switch.
Sources told Gamereactor that NVIDIA plans to stop producing the processor in 2021, but did not elaborate further on what will happen next, or what changes might be made to the current version of the hardware. This rumor is consistent with all other rumors about the Nintendo Switch Pro, or Super, that have been circulating online in recent months.
According to reliable insider NateDrake, the new model will support Nvidia's DLSS technology and other improvements for handheld mode. Considering how DLSS works, if the next model really supports DLSS, then the next model is equipped with a new SoC. The rumored technical specifications have been mentioned many times, supporting DLSS and 4K resolution.
The next Nintendo Switch model has not yet been officially announced. We will update as more news comes in on the matter.
