Arm CEO: Nvidia's acquisition will not change Arm's investment in the Chinese market

Nvidia officially announced that it will acquire Arm from SoftBank for US$40 billion.

Under the agreement, Nvidia will pay SoftBank $21.5 billion in Nvidia stock and $12 billion in cash, including $2 billion paid immediately upon signing.

 

Regarding this acquisition, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said that acquiring Arm is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and it will take a lot of energy and time, but he is confident that he can respond to regulatory challenges.

 

Arm CEO Simon Segars said that Nvidia's acquisition will not change Arm's investment in the Chinese market, and the Chinese joint venture is very important to Arm.

 

It is reported that the transaction still needs to be approved by China, the United States, the European Union and the United Kingdom, and it is expected that regulatory approval may take up to 18 months.

 

In addition, Simon Segers had previously stated that most of our products are not subject to US export controls, and this will not change with changes in the US parent company.
