In addition, Professor Pang Jianguo of the Institute of Mainland Studies at Chinese Culture University in Taiwan said that the mainland is the world's largest integrated circuit consumer market. Including integrated circuits, many industries in Taiwan belong to the mainland industrial chain and their development cannot be separated from the mainland market.
According to statistics, by export region, the largest market for Taiwan's integrated circuit exports is mainland China (including Hong Kong). In 2020, exports to mainland China (including Hong Kong) increased by 26.6% year-on-year, accounting for 61.3%. It is worth mentioning that according to data previously released by the Taiwan authorities' "Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics", Taiwan's GDP growth rate in 2020 was 2.98%.
