The world's first 5G phone with a physical keyboard: Astro Slide will be shipped in June

      After successfully crowdfunding on the Indiegogo platform in March last year, Astro Slide 5G is finally ready to ship in June this year, and it will be available for purchase in September this year. It will be the world's first or only 5G mobile phone with a physical keyboard, and the side sliding provides users with a full-size QWERTY keyboard.

　　The biggest highlight of this "palmtop computer" equipped with a 5.9-inch screen and running Android + Linux dual systems is the built-in membrane full keyboard. The official said that the design of the QWERTY physical keyboard can be more comfortable in light office scenarios such as replying emails and editing documents.

　　Astro Slide uses a new RockUp sliding hinge design. When you need the keyboard, you just need to slide the machine sideways and lift the screen. After putting the keyboard cover on, the device can be used as a touch-screen smartphone. Of course, the premise is that you can tolerate the weight of the whole machine of about 300 grams.

　　However, in terms of processor, the original MediaTek Dimensity 1000 was changed to Dimensity 800, and the memory was increased from the original 6GB to 8GB. When shipped, Astro Slide 5G was pre-installed with Android 11 system instead of the previously announced Android 10. Planet Computing also promised to launch other operating systems later this year, especially Debian Linux and UBports (Ubuntu Touch).
