On January 19, Chongqing held a press conference on Chongqing's foreign trade imports and exports in 2020. According to customs statistics, in 2020, the total value of Chongqing's foreign trade imports and exports was 651.34 billion yuan, an increase of 12.5% over 2019.
According to reports, in 2020, Chongqing's laptop exports hit a record high of 172.6 billion yuan, up 16.1%, accounting for 41.2% of Chongqing's total exports during the same period. Integrated circuit exports were 23.63 billion yuan, up 25.6%; mobile phone exports were 20.04 billion yuan, up 3.4 times. During the same period, automobile (including chassis) exports were 5.81 billion yuan, up 5.7%.
In 2020, the import of fruits, cosmetics, automobiles, medicinal materials and medicines increased by 1.7 times, 1.6 times, 5.2 times and 3.1 times respectively, driving the import of consumer goods to 17.29 billion yuan, a substantial increase of 92%. During the same period, the import of integrated circuits was 102.79 billion yuan, an increase of 18%, accounting for 44.2% of Chongqing's total imports during the same period; the import of storage components was 19.61 billion yuan, an increase of 1.9%.
