In June this year, due to the impact of the Entity List, Harbin Institute of Technology and Harbin Engineering University were banned by MathWorks from using MATLAB.

Recently, in the National Undergraduate Mathematical Modeling Competition, the organizing committee preliminarily determined that the Harbin Institute of Technology team could not use MATLAB. This also means that in the same competition, Harbin Institute of Technology will be at a disadvantage.

On June 17, Harbin Institute of Technology also issued the registration notice for the 2020 National Undergraduate Mathematical Modeling Competition. The notice requires participating teams to carefully read and understand the "National Undergraduate Mathematical Modeling Competition Regulations and Competition Rules (2019 Revised Draft)" and strictly follow the relevant requirements to participate in the competition.

It is worth mentioning that MathWorks (China) is also one of the sponsors of the National College Student Modeling Competition.
