From the perspective of the proportion of 5G connection time of each communication company, SK Telecom accounts for 15.4%, the highest among the three major communication companies. Next is LG U+ and KT, with 15.1% and 12.5% respectively. At present, South Korea's 5G commercial service NSA (non-independent networking) mode shares equipment with the LTE network. In places where 5G cannot be connected, the signal will automatically convert to LTE.
According to telecom industry insiders, South Korea's 5G coverage is relatively narrow, and most of the network is connected to LTE when indoors. In addition, because 5G mobile phones consume a lot of battery, it is difficult to connect to 5G signals smoothly in areas beyond the coverage area.
