According to Reuters, as Huawei is affected by the US ban, analysts expect Huawei's smartphone shipments to decline in the next six months, with shipments falling by as much as a quarter this year.
The main reason is that with the US ban, companies such as Google and ARM have announced that they will stop supplying and updating software to Huawei.
Linda Sui, smartphone strategy director at Strategy Analytics, said that if Huawei stops cooperating with Google, Huawei's smartphones may disappear from the Western European smartphone market next year.
Although Linda Sui predicts that Huawei's mobile phone shipments will drop by 23% next year, she also believes that Huawei will still be able to survive thanks to the huge Chinese market.
Fubon Research had previously expected Huawei's shipments to reach 258 million units in 2019, but the company has now lowered that figure to 200 million units.
In addition, IDC also stated that Huawei's global market share is 30%, with shipments of 208 million units last year, half of which came from markets outside of China.
If Huawei's shipments fall, IDC analyst Bryan Ma said its competitors, especially Samsung, would benefit.
