Earlier, it was reported that Konjac Technology, a company in Xiaomi's ecological chain, is planning to launch an e-cigarette brand. The company's founder is Zhong Yufei, a top 25 employee of Xiaomi. According to recruitment information from Konjac Technology, it is recruiting positions for e-cigarette structural engineers, e-cigarette atomization engineers, and e-liquid flavorists. The e-cigarette brand is called TAKI, and an official Weibo account named "TAKI Xike" has been registered on Weibo.
Afterwards, the invitation letter of Xiaomi Electronic Cigarette Xike was also leaked, and it seemed that Xiaomi had already started making electronic cigarettes.
However, to everyone's surprise, Xiaomi came out to refute the rumor again. On May 13, a spokesperson for Xiaomi said: "I reiterate that Xiaomi will not make e-cigarettes. We reserve the right to pursue legal responsibility against relevant organizations, institutions and individuals for suspected misuse of the Xiaomi brand and misleading consumers."
Despite losing the Xiaomi brand as a promotional tool, it does not hinder the launch of TAKI electronic cigarettes. Today, the official Weibo account of TAKI electronic cigarettes announced that it will hold a new product launch conference at the Shenzhen Boton International Convention Center on May 21.
Xiaomi TOP25 employee Zhong Yufei also forwarded this Weibo from the official TAKI e-cigarette, saying: "TAKI has one and only one goal: to reduce harm by launching products that truly impress smokers. TAKI's new product launch will be on May 21, and everyone is welcome to pay attention."
We went to Tianyancha APP and found that the major shareholder of Beijing Konjac Technology Co., Ltd., to which TAKI Xike Electronic Cigarette belongs, is Zhong Yufei, who holds 80% of the shares. Tianjin Jinmi Investment Partnership, which has Xiaomi background, holds 10% of the shares. Therefore, TAKI Xike Electronic Cigarette is actually inextricably linked to Xiaomi, and it is just short of using the Xiaomi Electronic Cigarette brand.
I wonder whether the TAKI electronic cigarette released on May 21 will be available on Xiaomi Mall or Xiaomi Youpin? We will also keep an eye on it.
