For Samsung, Intel's withdrawal from the 5G mobile phone baseband business is undoubtedly a good decision.

According to Korean media reports, Intel has given up on producing mobile modem chips. Some analysts believe that Samsung Electronics can take this opportunity to seek development in the weak non-memory chip market. Samsung Electronics has equipped its self-developed 5G baseband "Exynos 5100" on the Galaxy S10 5G model.

Currently, Samsung is increasing the production capacity of its self-developed 5G baseband, and they will also become a potential purchase target for Apple.

Yesterday, Intel announced that they would withdraw from the 5G smartphone baseband business and continue to focus on investing in and developing 5G network infrastructure business.

In order to dispel outside concerns, Intel stated in its latest announcement that they will not abandon their existing 4G mobile phone basebands and will continue to supply them normally. As for the abandonment of 5G mobile phone basebands, it is just a normal business adjustment to adjust their energy in order to better focus on 5G.
