Sinobo Group, China Mobile and Qualcomm plan to use 5G to empower boundless XR and jointly explore new paths for the construction of "Smart Workers' Stadium"

July 6, 2022, Beijing - Zhonghe Group held the " Gongti Metaverse GTVerse" press conference in Beijing. Zhonghe Group and leading technology companies jointly launched the Gongti Metaverse Ecological Alliance. By gathering industry forces and making early arrangements, the alliance will enable the new Gongti to become the first super-large urban park complex with "digital and physical integration experience consumption" as its core competitiveness. At the press conference, Zhonghe Group, China Mobile and Qualcomm Technologies jointly announced plans to explore new ways to enhance the experience of sports enthusiasts based on the 5G borderless XR event experience solution enabled by "5G+XR".

The 5G borderless XR event experience solution is based on the high-speed and low-latency transmission provided by 5G slicing. It realizes separate rendering in collaboration between XR head-mounted display devices and edge cloud, creating an immersive experience for XR users without being bound by cables for large-scale load scenarios. It is expected to enable innovative sports applications such as smart management and services of venues, panoramic free-viewing live broadcast of events, and immersive viewing. The three parties also jointly demonstrated the separate rendering borderless XR technology based on 5G slicing end-edge collaboration at the press conference, demonstrating the maturity of the 5G+XR "business-network-computing power" integrated solution and its potential for commercial implementation in smart sports scenarios.

Ge Qi, Vice President of Sinobo Group and founder of GTVerse, said: "The characteristics of the 5G borderless XR event experience solution coincide with the goal of GTVerse, the Workers' Stadium, to create a digital-physical integrated consumer experience as the core scenario. We are very much looking forward to testing, deploying and applying the 5G borderless XR event experience solution on a large scale in the new Workers' Stadium. We will maintain close cooperation with China Mobile and Qualcomm Technologies, and through industrial platforms such as the GTVerse Joint Innovation Lab at the Workers' Stadium, explore more smart sports application scenarios based on advanced technologies, and jointly build a smart Workers' Stadium that integrates digital and physical elements."

Huang Yuhong, President of China Mobile Research Institute, said: "China Mobile has always been committed to working with the industry to actively explore the integrated 'service-network-computing power' solution for 5G+XR, and to achieve real breakthroughs from cutting-edge technology research to application demonstration. Previously, we have worked with Qualcomm Technologies to demonstrate the edge-to-end collaborative XR solution based on 5G slicing. Relying on China Mobile's terminal slicing technology solution, we provide customized and resource-isolated business capabilities, further verifying the new experience potential brought by 5G technology and promoting '5G+XR' to empower consumer industries and sports events. With the release of the Workers' Stadium Metaverse, we look forward to working with Sinobo Group, Qualcomm Technologies and our partners to create a 'Smart Workers' Stadium' and promote the application and deployment of '5G+' technologies represented by 5G Unbounded XR in more fields."

Meng Pu, chairman of Qualcomm China, said: "5G and XR are the core technologies for building the Metaverse. While continuously leading the research and development, deployment and popularization of 5G technology, the company has expanded its expertise in the mobile field to the cutting-edge computing field of XR, promoted the integration of 5G and XR technologies, and provided basic technical support for realizing the vision of the Metaverse. We are very pleased to cooperate with Sinobo Group and China Mobile to promote the possibility of implementing boundless XR in smart sports scenarios."
