At the 2021 World 5G Conference, Huawei disclosed that my country has built the world's largest 5G network in just two years of commercial use. In order to make technology accessible to the world, Huawei said on August 30 that it would launch a green 5G network that can save 15% of energy, as well as hard-core innovative technologies such as green base stations and green data centers at the 5G conference.
Huawei revealed that as 5G is building an intelligent world where everything is connected, my country has built the world's largest 5G network two years after 5G commercialization, opened more than 960,000 5G base stations, and the number of 5G terminal connections has reached 365 million. At the same time, the combination of 5G with cloud, AI, big data and other technologies has penetrated into various fields such as industry, energy, and medical care, providing new opportunities and new engines for the digital transformation of industries to digital and intelligent upgrades.
As the number of 5G networks and terminal devices becomes increasingly large, how to build a full-scenario green solution and how to accelerate energy conservation and carbon reduction have become important issues facing the entire society.
Carbon peak and carbon neutrality will affect social development and people's lives, which is also the common mission of the world today. On the same day, Huawei disclosed that in the "Green Energy Saving" exhibition area of this 5G conference, Huawei will launch full-scenario solutions such as "Green Network", "Green Site" and "Green Data Center" to accelerate energy conservation and carbon reduction and help achieve my country's carbon neutrality goals.
In terms of the eye-catching "green network", Huawei continuously improves site energy efficiency through an intelligent energy-saving platform based on the characteristics of network structure and traffic model, and uses online AI technology to reduce ineffective energy consumption, while maintaining stable network efficiency and minimizing network energy consumption. According to tests, Huawei's innovative technology will save more than 10% of energy on 4G networks, and the energy saving level of 5G networks will be as high as 15%.
Huawei will also exhibit its 5G "green site", which greatly simplifies the site design, makes the computer room outdoor, replaces the site computer room with a cabinet or equipment on a pole, and simultaneously introduces green energy.
In order to build a "green data center", Huawei pre-installed modular data centers in an assembled manner, which can save 80% of water during the construction period; and the indirect evaporative cooling technology greatly reduces the number of heat exchanges compared to traditional water cooling methods, and can also significantly improve energy-saving efficiency.
The integration of 5G with cloud, AI, AR and other technologies is also changing people's lives and social ways, bringing more surprising new smart life experiences to the public. In the "5G Innovation Business" exhibition area, this year Huawei will showcase many novel smart applications such as Hetu business, AR interactive experience, AI photo studio, 5G new call, etc. to the public, allowing people to fully experience the unique charm of 5G empowering a new life.
At present, AR applications based on 5G are moving towards mature commercial use. At the Hetu business exhibition point, relying on Huawei Hetu's four core technologies of high-precision 3D maps, high-precision spatial computing, AI 3D recognition, and ultra-realistic virtual-real occlusion fusion drawing, and based on the lower latency and higher speed of 5G networks, consumers can enter the digital world of virtual-real integration through terminals such as smartphones and AR glasses. From pure virtuality, to the integration of virtual and reality, to interactivity, 5G+AR will change the way people socialize and bring a new era of the Internet of Everything to us.
In addition, at the high-tech video exhibition point, Huawei will also showcase 5G smart venue solutions, demonstrating hard-core technologies such as free perspective, multi-perspective, 8K+VR, and 2D to 3D conversion.
