On July 20, AMD's Ryzen 8000 series ES chip code-named Strix Point has appeared in the MilkyWay@home database.

MilkyWay@home database has previously leaked Zen 3 and Zen 4 CPU samples, and the data is relatively reliable. The leaked data this time comes from an anonymous user, and the test environment is Linux Ubuntu, so it should be an internal engineer of AMD.

According to the data identified by MilkyWay, the model of this ES processor is "100-000000994-03_N", which is part of AMD Family 26 Model 32 Stepping 0. Combined with previously known information, this series of products belongs to the Strix Point series APU, which will adopt the next-generation Zen 5 CPU architecture and RDNA 3.5 GPU architecture.

This APU has 12 Zen 5 cores and 24 logical threads, which means that the number of cores of Strix Point APU will increase, which also confirms the previous revelations.

A previous whistleblower pointed out that the full version of Strix Point has 12 Zen 5 cores, while the "Halo" chiplet version has up to 16 cores.

wccftech believes that these APUs belong to the AMD Ryzen 8055 series (Ryzen 8000 APU series) and have the following features:

  • 5nm process

  • Zen 5 CPU Cores

  • RDNA 3.5 GPU Core

  • Enhanced AI engine

  • Released in Q2 2024 (estimated)

AMD and Samsung are rumored to be collaborating on 4nm processors

AMD's Ryzen 8000 series Strix Point APUs have been confirmed to use the new GFX115* GPU IP, and the new RDNA 3.5 GPU is expected to bring a significant performance boost, which should allow it to compete with Meteor Lake and Arrow Lake CPUs.
