Panasonic presented the Transparent OLED Display concept as part of the Salone del Mobile installation for Swiss furniture brand Vitra, which looks like a glass cabinet in which Panasonic's new display technology is seamlessly integrated. The Transparent OLED Display concept is the result of a workshop held between Vitra and Panasonic, leveraging the former's expertise in furniture design and the latter's technical knowledge to explore the integration of audio-visual equipment into the user's furniture space.

The concept was conceived by Scandinavian designer Daniel Rybakken and Panasonic Kyoto Design. Without power, the display looks like a glass pane encased in a wooden frame, but when the power is turned on, the cabinet's glass suddenly reveals the image, inviting onlookers to see what's displayed on the screen. Aside from the glass front display panel, all other electrical components are hidden within the frame, which also serves as a stand for the display. The concept could also provide ambient lighting whether the image on the screen is showing or not.
