The 2nd RISC-V China Summit is about to be held. Online audience registration has been opened
Shanghai, China, August 15, 2022 – The second RISC-V China Summit (RISC-V Summit China 2022) will be grandly opened on August 24. The RISC-V China Summit was held for the first time last year and was a huge success, with more than 1,500 offline visitors, more than 30,000 online visitors, and more than 100 participating manufacturers. It is the largest RISC-V technology conference in China to date and has become a benchmark event expected by domestic industry colleagues and technology enthusiasts.
The main meeting of this summit will be held online for three days (August 24-26). It is expected that more than 100,000 people will attend the online meeting, exceeding the number of participants in the previous session. Various activities will be held in the same place during the same period in a combination of online and offline forms, including technical seminars (workshops), product promotion and training activities (tutorials), covering the latest technology introductions and product releases in the industry, and exchanges of cutting-edge academic achievements.
This summit is supported and guided by the RISC-V International Foundation, co-hosted by ShanghaiTech University and the Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences, hosted by Guangzhou Intelligent Software Industry Research Institute, and co-organized by China RISC-V Industry Alliance (CRVIC), China Open Instruction Ecosystem Alliance (CRVA), Beijing Open Source Chip Research Institute, CAS Nanjing Software Technology Research Institute, Chongqing CAS Automotive Software Innovation Center, and CNRV Community. The highlights of the event include:
August 24 – On the opening day, RISC-V International Foundation CTO Mark Himelstein, Chairman of the Technical Committee Software Subcommittee Philipp Tomsich, Teacher Bao Yungang of the Xiangshan Team of the Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Dr. Meng Jianyi, Co-Chair of this Summit, will be invited to give keynote speeches at the conference. In the new product launch session, many manufacturers will bring blockbuster products.
August 24-26 – The main conference was divided into two online sub-venues and held simultaneously. Domestic and foreign companies, research institutes, and academic institutions brought more than 80 technical reports, results presentations, and short speeches. Comprehensive presentations and discussions were launched on topics such as the latest research progress, technological capabilities, business innovation, industry outlook, and talent training.
August 23-28 – Various research institutes, domestic and foreign companies, and technology exchange communities, including the Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Software of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing Open Source Chip Research Institute, Xinlai Technology, and Qinheng Microelectronics, will hold various co-location events. There will be 12 concurrent events at the summit, with multiple locations such as Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, and Wuhan.
Meng Jianyi, chairman of this RISC-V China Summit and vice president of Pingtou Ge Semiconductor, said: "At present, there are more than 10 billion RISC-V chips used in various fields around the world. RISC-V is becoming a new force in the CPU field, and China's technology companies and research institutes are becoming the backbone of this global new technology wave. The RISC-V China Summit is a professional platform that showcases the latest progress in RISC-V technology breakthroughs, product evolution and ecosystem construction, providing the industry with extensive cooperation and exchange opportunities. Today, as RISC-V technology and ecology are developing in more depth, the industry needs to work together to promote RISC-V technology innovation, stimulate more RISC-V applications, and create a richer, more open and more inclusive RISC-V ecosystem." It is understood that Pingtou Ge will also announce major RISC-V progress and release important new products at this summit.
Professor Bao Yungang, board member of the RISC-V International Foundation, Secretary-General of the China Open Instruction Ecosystem Alliance, and Deputy Director of the Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said: "With the support of the organizing committee and sponsoring companies, the second RISC-V China Summit finally lived up to expectations and arrived as scheduled. Through innovative measures such as combining online and offline events and setting up multiple venues, it provides a better communication platform for the Chinese RISC-V community. In the past year, we have seen the accelerated development of the entire RISC-V ecosystem, which is inseparable from the development and contribution of the Chinese community. We hope that through the holding of the RISC-V China Summit, we can promote all parties to work together and continuously contribute to the construction of an open and open source RISC-V ecosystem."
Researcher Wu Yanjun, chief engineer of the Institute of Software of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, also mentioned that the rapid development of RISC-V can be clearly felt in the past year. He said: "Although many key standards and specifications of RISC-V are not yet mature and a large amount of basic software has yet to be adapted, the prosperity of the RISC-V ecosystem is an inevitable trend. I hope that this summit, based on the success of last year, can arouse more Chinese forces to join the rise of the RISC-V ecosystem."
As the diamond sponsor of the RISC-V China Summit for two consecutive years, Nucleotech actively participated in the RISC-V China Summit. Peng Jianying, co-founder and CEO, said: "I am very happy to see that the RISC-V China Summit has brought together the strength of RISC-V in China. Nucleotech has always regarded the summit as a stage to report our growth to the industry. During the summit, we will bring the latest developments of Nucleo IP product evolution and cutting-edge information on market applications. We look forward to working with colleagues in the industry to build a new development of the domestic RISC-V ecosystem."
