Jingxin Technology, a leading supplier of high-efficiency, low-power 32/64-bit RISC-V processor cores and one of the founding members of the RISC-V Foundation, recently announced that it has joined the Intel Foundry Services (IFS) Accelerator Program IP Alliance. Jingxin will provide a comprehensive solution of RISC-V CPU IP cores from entry-level to high-end products to meet application needs from edge to cloud, including its high-demand and recently upgraded RISC-V superscalar multicore AX 45MP and vector processor NX27V. Designers building Jingxin embedded RISC-V SoCs will be able to take advantage of Intel Foundry Services' leading technology to provide higher energy-saving performance.

"RISC-V is the instruction set architecture (ISA) for the 21st century, created from a blank slate, freed from the constraints of half a century of backward compatibility support," said Frankwell Lin, CEO of Andes Technology. "By providing a world-class foundry for this revolutionary new ISA, Intel Foundry Services will deliver leading-edge silicon for 5G, ADAS, AI, AR/VR, data centers, semiconductor storage, and HPC around the RISC-V architecture. We are excited to be one of the key IP partners for the IFS Accelerator, IP Alliance Program. Intel's large-scale fabs provide committed capacity to IFS customers, which ensures that SoC designs based on Andes RISC-V processor cores will be successfully ramped and mass-produced."

Randhir Thakur, president of Intel Foundry Services, said, “We are pleased to announce the IFS Ecosystem Alliance, which is an important step in Intel’s foundry ambitions. We are delighted to have Andes join the alliance. We look forward to working with Andes to expand their leadership in IFS to benefit our mutual global customers.”

Andes customers' total SoC shipments surpassed the 10 billion milestone in 2021. These SoCs cover a wide range of embedded electronics such as 5G, automotive control, deep learning, AIoT, data centers, image processing, networking, and storage. By joining the IFS Accelerator IP Alliance, Andes can provide joint customers with seamless support from SoC design to manufacturing. The collaboration between the two leading suppliers will strengthen the RISC-V and IFS ecosystems and accelerate customers' time to market.
