According to foreign media reports, Ceer, Saudi Arabia's first electric vehicle (EV) brand, has signed a cooperation agreement with Rimac Technology. According to the agreement, Rimac Technology will provide high-performance, fully integrated electric drive systems (EDS) for Ceer's upcoming flagship EV series. Ceer is a joint venture established by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd. (Foxconn). The two parties will reveal more details and scope of the cooperation in the subsequent stage.

The partnership was officially announced at a signing ceremony held by Rimac in Croatia on October 17 this year, attended by Mate Rimac, CEO of Rimac Technology, and James DeLuca, CEO of CEER Motors.

James DeLuca, CEO of Ceer, said: “We are delighted to be the first company in the GCC region to partner with Rimac Technology to equip Ceer’s flagship models with state-of-the-art high-performance electric drive systems and solutions. Rimac’s global reputation and expertise in designing cutting-edge performance powertrain systems aligns perfectly with our strategic goal of partnering with global industry leaders as we strive to bring world-class high-performance electric vehicles to Saudi Arabia and revolutionize the Kingdom’s automotive industry.”

The partnership with Ceer marks a further expansion of Rimac Technology's business, achieving a transition from the production of limited-volume high-performance models (including the Rimac Nevera, Pininfarina Battista supercar, Aston Martin Valkyrie and Koenigsegg Regera) to large-scale mass production projects. Earlier this year, Rimac Technology announced a long-term partnership with the BMW Group to provide high-voltage battery systems for its passenger cars. In addition, the company has signed multiple agreements to provide solutions for multiple medium- to large-scale mass-production OEM projects in Europe. The cooperation with Ceer is Rimac's first cooperation agreement signed in the GCC region and marks another major expansion of the company's product line (focused on electric powertrain systems and software combinations).
