On May 31, Reuters reported that Tesla China is preparing to register its FSD function with relevant departments in order to push this function this year.
Although Tesla FSD has not yet been launched in the Chinese market, FSD was already sold with the Model 3 when it was released, priced at 64,000 yuan. They also plan to launch an FSD subscription system in China, which may cost US$98 per month (IT Home Note: Currently about RMB 711).
Tesla is working to introduce its latest software, FSD V12, to China, and Musk said Tesla has a path to provide a fully autonomous driving system.
Tesla is also considering licensing FSD to other Chinese automakers, and the sales of FSD in China will open up a new source of revenue for Tesla. Tesla's sales in China fell 7.6% from January to April 2024 due to competition from Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers.
On April 28, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers and the National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Processing Coordination Center issued the "Notice on the Testing Results of Four Safety Requirements for Automobile Data Processing (First Batch)", which mentioned that all models produced by Tesla's Shanghai Super Factory meet the compliance requirements, and it is the only foreign-funded enterprise that meets the compliance requirements.
