GHSP Launches New eVibe System Using Allegro MicroSystems Technology to Power the Future of Electric Vehicles
New technologies complement xEV’s shortcomings and promote broader electric vehicle market demand
Manchester, NH, USA – Allegro MicroSystems, a global leader in sensing technology and power semiconductor solutions for motion control and energy-efficient systems, has announced that it has collaborated closely with GHSP, a global mechanical and electromechanical systems supplier and a JSJ Corporation company, to use Allegro’s leading gate driver and vehicle sensor technology in its new eVibe vibration enhancement system.
Today, xEV technology is developing rapidly, and many new xEV fans in the market are eager for a more immersive driving experience. GHSP's eVibe system can bring a refreshing experience to xEV driving operation by providing noise and vibration that can mimic the feel and sound of traditional internal combustion engines that drivers are familiar with. At the core of this new technology are Allegro's A89500 motor driver and APS12215 Hall effect latch, which have excellent performance and switching capabilities.
“Our challenge from the beginning has been to create solutions that address the unique and growing xEV market segment,” said Dan Dawiedczyk, President of GHSP . “We are excited to be working with Allegro and combining our industry experience and expertise to help realize our vision. Together, we are developing groundbreaking innovations and we look forward to working together in the years ahead.”
Allegro's A89500 motor driver offers high power density and fast switching operation, helping to provide instant response and feel, which helps elevate the end product. Its transient robustness and wide input voltage range make it a best-in-class solution on the market. On the other hand, the APS12215 Hall-effect latch's high temperature performance and stable switching capabilities enable the eVibe system to accurately track and monitor the position of the motor's unbalanced weights, ultimately resulting in a more realistic vibration experience. eVibe technology allows for a variety of applications, including ADAS, ICE simulation, or high-performance operation.
“For more than a decade, Allegro has been working closely with market-leading automotive partners to develop innovative solutions that will help transform the ride, power and performance of tomorrow’s electric vehicles,” said Suman Narayan , Senior Vice President of Products at Allegro. “Our latest collaboration highlights this new and growing market segment and its critical need for Allegro’s technology. We value GHSP’s automotive domain expertise and look forward to continued collaboration to develop solutions that drive innovation.”
The eVibe system goes beyond enhancing the driving experience, it represents a significant shift in future xEV technology and the way drivers interact with their vehicles. From mimicking the feel of idle to simulating engine throttle and high-speed gearshifts through advanced vibration indicators, GHSP technology provides drivers with a more immersive and connected driving experience. This innovation has the potential to reshape the xEV market, meeting a wider range of customization options and individual customer preferences, while helping to drive electric vehicle adoption.
